Marketing Tips and Internet Marketing Strategies

I Bought A Mac [Episode 27 - SOMEWHAT FRANK TV]Video marketing is quickly becoming one of the most important ways to market your business. A free service  from TubeMogul.com can help you upload your videos to some of the top video sites quickly and easily.

How To Get Number 1 Rankings On Google, Yahoo! And MSN Using Video Hosting Sites

By Jeff Mills

The other day, I did a test to see how fast my videos would be found in the search engines and to see how well they would rank for the keywords I was optimizing my videos for.

The results were outstanding and should bring hope to anyone who feels that getting a #1 or top 10 listing on the major search engines is out of reach. Everyone can get top listings, with videos

The process was very simple. I filmed a video, submitted and tagged my video, and 13 hours later, I was in the #1 spot. Then, 24 hours later that same video on different video networks occupied spots 1, 2 and 3 on Google.

So, how easy is it to do? Very easy, just follow these steps and you’ll be getting #1 listings on Google, MSN and Yahoo! in no time flat.

First - Create your video. Use a video camera or digital video camera and get the digital file on to you computer so you can manipulate it in a video editing program. If you don’t have a video camera, no problem, all you need is a microphone and an audio recording program like Audacity, and you can create an mp3 audio file with 30 seconds to 5 minutes of audio, and convert that audio to video. Don’t worry, that’s easy too, I’ll tell you how in the next steps.

Second - Edit the video file to have the look, feel, URL’s and production values you like. If you made an audio file, put that audio file into the video editing software. Most PC’s come with Windows Movie Maker, which is free, and you can drop the Mp3 audio in there and place, random Digital pictures throughout the length of the audio file to create the “video” images that go along with your audio.

Third - Upload the finished video file, which should be in wmv format to a video submission host, called Tubemogul. At Tubemogul, you can upload unlimited videos, and then have those videos uploaded automatically to some of the more popular video hosting sites on the internet like Youtube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, Metacafe, Revver, and some other popular one.

Let me say that Tubemogul is also MORE than just a video posting service, they are MUCH more. They can track all the video views you get DAILY on EACH video hosting site. They’ll provide charts and other track meta data, that is very important to marketers to daily track stats across all the video sites. And remember, it’s all free to do this.

Fourth & Final Step - Push your videos out to the video hosting sites and let Tubemogul do the work for you. But a key element is, you want people to find your videos. The search engines find videos, not based on the content said inside them, but by the tags and descriptions about them. Tagging is the single most important element of getting traffic to other websites, based on what your video is tagged for.

Proper tagging elements include coming up with a TITLE for the Video, a DESCRIPTION, and TAGS or KEYWORDS. Let me say a little about each area.

The TITLE tag is the #1 most important tag. It’s the one the search engines will display in the search results. If someone searches for “free home based business dvd” in a search engine, and you are offering a free home based business dvd, you want your website to come up, as well as your video. So tag your Title well, with up to 3 phrase or keywords you are hoping to be found by. As a marketer, you can find out what are the most popular keywords by simply looking at Google’s Trends website. Search for Google trends and they tell you what is hot right now in search.

The DESCRIPTION tag is the #2 most important tag. I always recommend, if you are plugging a website or are marketing something, put the URL as the first thing people see in the description slot, follow by a logical telling of what the video is about, being mindful of good keywords and phrasing. Make sure the URL begins with http:// in the front, as some movie hosting sites will turn it into an active an hyperlink, while sometimes they won’t. I dunno why they work sometimes, and then not work others.

The TAGS are simply the keywords and phrases to plug your video with. Don’t be stingy with your tagging. Get em all in there so you might be found, but try to be a relevant to the video and do not tag spam!

Finally - Make sure all your login and pw info is stored correctly in Tubemogul so that your videos will post correctly to the video hosting sites, and then push the button that makes this machine come alive and within hours, you’ll see your videos posted in their appropriate places in your accounts. I love using tools which can easily automated task one used to have to do by themselves.

Do a quick Google search, using the title of your video and see how fast Google has indexed that video. When I did this last time, within 24 hours, I had the top 3 listings for the keywords I wanted to be found and listed with.

So, making a video or using audio and pictures to make a video is really simple. Once you have your video made, upload it to Tubemogul, tag it and post it and within hours your videos will be all over the search engines bringing you free leads and traffic daily.

Air Show (Aurora)You may think that the classifieds are obsolete now, but that isn’t true. Most paper classifieds are also online, and there are many free online classified sites.  If you don’t have a website or an email list, classifieds are the way to go.

How To Make Money Online Without A Website Or A List: Classified Advertising

By: Jinger Jarrett

Classified advertising is probably one of the oldest ways to market online. Although it’s not always as effective as it once was, it’s still an effective way to market your business online.

The reason is that it is a form of marketing that most people are familiar with. For those new to the internet, it’s an easy way to find things. For those who want to sell, it’s an easy marketing technique.

If you’re new to internet marketing, or you don’t have any money to spend on marketing, classified advertising is the best place to start. It’s easy to learn how to write ads, and there are plenty of free classified ad sites that will allow you to post ads.

Before you post any ads though, here’s a few things to help you make more money from this technique:

1. Choose low cost products to market.

It’s a lot easier to sell low ticket items on classified ad sites than it is high ticket items. If you plan to use classified sites to drive traffic for your high ticket items, then it’s a good idea to create some type of freebie to draw traffic to your site.

Don’t offer your product in the ad. Offer the freebie. Give visitors a reason to visit your site.

2. If possible, optimize your ads for the search engines.

When you’re writing your ads it’s a good idea to write them with the search engines in mind. Try to include your keywords in your ads if possible.

Many classified ad sites, especially free ones, do really well in the search engines. You can easily increase the traffic to your ad by considering the keywords.

3. Try offering physical products too.

Top classified sites like Craig’s List offer just about everything. Just as shoppers may shop auctions to find bargains, classified ad sites are another place to look for bargains.

The best part of offering what you sell through classifieds is that it won’t cost you anything.

4. Write as many ads as you can and post them.

The more ads you write, the more chances you have to make conversions, get traffic, and get sales. Many of these classified ad sites also allow you to renew your ads so you don’t have to retype them.

5. Post ads consistently.

As I mentioned before, many of these sites allow you to renew your ads without reposting them. This will save you a lot of time and help you get your ads out more quickly.

Don’t just renew your ads though. Post more ads and try to do a certain number of ads each day. More ads equal more traffic and ultimately more sales.

What’s that you say? Myspace is obsolete? Don’t count it out just yet. If you own a business or are trying to make money online, Myspace can still help you.

The Secrets of MySpace Marketing to Make Money Online Through Social Networking

By Paul Friar

How do you actually make Money on MySpace?…is a question you will find a lot on Google search listings.

There are many ways of making money on MySpace, as it has systems built into it, which although were not intended to be for that reason, could now be used to generate cash.

You should think of the site as being a very large network of potential customers. A very messy network!

In order that you can actually make money, you have to sort out the mess into some sort of order.

The way you should do that is by grouping its users into different categories.

If whatever you have to offer appeals only to certain niches, then you would want to focus on those groups that you think are your most likely customers.

There are several ways of doing this, of course.

One way you could do it would be to use the search functions and start finding those people that you think have the correct interests or who have simply used certain words on their profile.

If you wanted to find someone that would make a good affiliate for you, you might want to start to search for those persons who have the right background, perhaps in computers, or in advertising.

If you have a profile already, you could just place them in your friends list.

If you find some really good candidates, you should put their name in some type of database, so that you do not risk forgetting why you added them to it originally.

Another way might be to start looking for people in groups or forums that relate to your topic.

Just add some useful information to a thread, and then you can start trying to gently begin persuading as many people as you are able to, to join your list.

Once you have added new friends this way, you should start to contact them every now and again in order to develop a personal relationship with them.

For example, you might want to consider starting to send out a regular bulletin which relates to your mutual interest, but which does not have anything to do with your actual business.

You will then be able to get them to visit your profile and check upon your business, as opposed to simply sending them a bulletin and actually telling them they should visit.

All of this is just simple stuff which you might like to try.

There is far more that you can be doing to market on this popular social networking site, I know from experience, and I would like the opportunity to share this information with you.

To really start earning money with MySpace, you need my MySpace marketing secrets.

asio otus | bufo-pequenoSocial bookmarking is a strategy that can be used to boost links to your site and you articles. This will make the articles more relevant making the links from the articles to your site more relevant.

Social Media Marketing With Social Bookmarking Sites – Build Links For Free

By: Jane Fields

You’ve probably heard the buzz about social media marketing (SMM). One of the components of SMM is social bookmarking. With the right advice and the right strategy, you can use social bookmarking to boost links to your company site and increase your site’s relevance for the keywords that pertain to your business.

The Opportunities in Social Bookmarking

Inbound links to your website are tremendously important to your search engine ranking. In fact, most search engine marketing experts believe that Google’s ranking algorithm is weighted far more heavily towards links than it is to keywords.

SMM offers many ways to generate these links for little or no cost – articles, social media sites and blogs are just a few examples. Social bookmarking is another.

With bookmarking, you save bookmarks to blog posts, articles and web pages (including your own). You tag them with a “keyword” of your own choosing (preferably related to your business). You can then add a “tag cloud” to your website. The tag cloud contains the tags you have created and directs users to the bookmarks you have saved for that tag.

What is the benefit for your business? Each bookmark links to your website or blog. With tag clouds, each keyword appears on your site, increasing the site’s relevance. Between the bookmarking site and the tag cloud on your website, you have a really great cross-promotional tool that opens up myriad opportunities for people to find you.

Consider the website of a Toronto marketing firm. They have a tag cloud with words like Toronto, search marketing, social media, blogging and so on. Each time someone visits their site, that person can click a tag and find the company’s bookmarks. They can then share those bookmarks with other users, which will point those users back to the marketing firm’s site.

Going in the other direction, people searching a bookmarking site may find the marketing firm’s bookmarks. Seeing that the company has posted some interesting and valuable articles on online marketing, they decide to visit the company’s site and add it to their social bookmarking network.

The Challenges of Social Bookmarking for Businesses

Like any kind of social media marketing, social bookmarking is low-cost, at least in terms of money. Where the “costs” escalate is in time. To do social bookmarking right, you need time to evaluate the various sites, add your bookmarks, comment on them, and interact with other users who share your interests. It is a big job.

Let’s look at the first step – deciding which sites to use. If you do a search for the top social bookmarking sites, you’ll get a huge list, like the one published on ebizMBA. So which ones do you choose? Delicious is one of the biggest, but would it be better to go for a smaller site, like furl or faves.com? Is it better to use all three, plus some social news sites, like Digg or Reddit?

Once you have made that decision, you need to decide how and when you will create the content you want to bookmark. Blogs, articles – what is the right amount of content and how often do you need to create it? You can really only answer that question by looking at social bookmarking as part of your overall social media marketing plan.

Answers to Your Social Media Marketing Questions

Social bookmarking and social media marketing are powerful marketing tools. To make the most of them you need to devote a lot of attention to the sites and create content regularly. You also need a comprehensive social media marketing plan that incorporates all of your content initiatives and your efforts to create bookmarks that direct people to that content.

A marketing agency that specializes in SMM can get you started. They can help you navigate the sites, schedule your content and get involved in the social media sphere. Even if you just sign on for a short-term contract to get started, you will find the SMM firm an invaluable partner in your “new media” marketing plans.

Search-Engine-MarketingPPC is one of those strategies that can make you a ton of money or cost you a ton of money.  There is a lot of work involved in order to be successful with PPC. Here are some tips to help you increase your revenue.

Using Keyword Phrase & Simple PPC Techniques to Create Tons of Leads For Your MLM!

By Brandon Walsh

Okay, PPC can be incredibly costly and difficult if done wrong. I have spent over 100k using AdWords both personally and in cooperative advertising ventures and have learned a LOT along the way.

In this post, I want to provide some simple, tangible steps that you can introduce to get your marketing efforts off the ground without breaking the bank.

Get Your Sales Funnel In Place!

First off… You need to have at least a semi-efficient sales funnel in place for your opportunity. If you are unfamiliar with this concept, then I suggest you check out this post on sales funnels.

Without an effective funnel in place to ‘re-coop’ some of your advertising dollars, it’s very difficult to have a ‘win’ out of the gates.

Use Some Common Sense Keywords

Next… Use your common sense and best intuition to come up with 10 separate keyword phrases to initially setup your campaign. Often times people get bogged down using keyword tools, and going after generic terms like ‘home business’ that are extremely difficult to rank/place ads for effectively.

Start simple and use your brain to come up with original terms to get in the head of your prospective visitor. Think about their emotional ties, their frustrations, and their financial challenges that might be spurring their search for your services.

If you can focus your campaigns and advertising dollars around longtail phrases such as “need a new job”, “financial help after divorce”, and “business to run as part time mom”, you will have much better success than using over-competitive and ineffective phrases suggested by most keyword tools.

Use What Works!

Being that you’re only starting with 10 keyword phrases, you might as well find out what’s working to attract these visitors and work upwards from there! So, grab your keywords (which you hopefully came up with on your own) and type them into Google. Once you do, you’ll see that there are probably at least a couple of ads that immediately catch your attention. Now, ask yourself WHY they catch your attention!

Is it because those ads use the keyword in it’s entirety and consequently, Google has ‘bolded’ the phrase? Or, is it because the ad copy pulls an emotional string related to your finances, love, discovery, etc…? Whatever it might be, use it to your advantage when crafting your ad. If it’s not broke.. don’t fix it. The advertisers in these positions are likely paying a lot of money to advertise here, so it is most likely working for them!

Using PPC to create masses of new leads for your business can be quite simple if the right techniques are employed.

February 29th 2008 - Lots to Leap ForI have mentioned before how important article marketing is to your online business success.  Here are some ideas for writing an article once and using it over and over again.

Article Marketing: 15 Secrets to Repurposing your Articles to Work for you Again and Again

By: Donna Gunter

Copyright (c) 2008 Donna Gunter

My favorite Internet marketing strategy of all time is article marketing. It keys into one of my talents, writing, and I can use the articles I create time and time again for a multitude of purposes. I tend to be lazy by nature, so anything that lets me create once and get paid, get paid, get paid, etc. is a dream marketing strategy.

I made a firm commitment to writing one article per week in 2003 or so, and now have an entire article library that I use and refer to all the time. Without a doubt, I have to give credit to my article marketing strategy for the success of my business. It has helped me get found online, demonstrate my expertise to my target market, create info products to sell on my website, and get hired by those in need of what I offer.

Here are 15 ways you can repurpose each article you write to make it a workhorse for your business:

1. Publish in your ezine. Every single article I’ve ever written has appeared as an article in one of my newsletters. My commitment to publishing a weekly email newsletter forced me to commit to writing a new article each week. I’m not sure I would have honored my commitment to article writing had I not forced myself to produce an email newsletter on a weekly basis.

2. Post to your website. Roughly 60% of my traffic comes to my website via keyword searches that match the topics of articles that I’ve written. I use my online article bank to send both current and prospective clients to my site for additional information on a topic that enhances a recent discussion I’ve had with them. For maximum usability, index the articles on your website in usable categories that make sense to your target market so that they can easily find your words of expertise when they search for it online.

3. Add to your blog. Every single article that I write for my newsletter is also posted to my blog. Is this overkill, since I already publish an ezine, and do the search engines penalize me for redundant content? Thus far, I’ve never been penalized for having the same article appear in multiple places. In fact, Google indexes my blog posts within hours as indicated via my Google alerts. Some people love to read and respond to blogs while others would rather read ezines. So, by doing both, I appeal to both audiences with only minutes of extra effort.

4. Publish on social networking community sites. You can’t move anywhere online today without running into some social networking site — MySpace, Facebook Squidoo, etc. Many people are setting up their own social networking communities for niche markets, like the Book Marketing community to which I belong. Post your article to all of the social networking sites in which you participate. Depending on the site, you may be able to post it to your blog on the site, a group blog, a discussion forum, an announcement, etc. Check the rules of the community before posting your first article.

5. Distribute through article banks. Distributing your articles via thousands of article banks and article directories helps you increase your traffic, as Internet searchers might find an article at an article directory initially and then visit your website upon reading your resource box (short bio) at the end of the article. Article submission also establishes your credibility as an expert, especially when you tell a prospective client to Google you and they’re amazed by all the references to you online. Lastly, this article marketing strategy helps other print and online publishers locate you and then feature your work (or offer the prospect of other opportunities) in their publication.

6. Create a podcast. Make a digital recording of your article using one of any number of audio recording services like AudioAcrobat or software like Audacity. I create an special intro and outtro (special offer) for each podcast, based on the content of the article, and then proceed to read and record the text of the article. Then, post your podcast to podcast directories. In about 30 minutes, you’ve created yet another marketing strategy for yourself.

7. Create a video. Video production is becoming easier and easier, and I now receive a couple of video ezines where the entire content of the ezine is delivered via a video. In fact, you can actually sit at your desk with a webcam and record yourself. With the magic of video software like Visual Communicator or screen capturing software like Camtasia, you can add graphics and text and have a video ready in minutes. With the popularity of video sites like YouTube, it’s harder to ignore the impact video will have on your online marketing efforts.

8. Syndicate on other websites. Through the power of RSS feeds, you can become a syndicated columnist in other people’s publications. Simply offer your RSS code and installation instructions to your visitors with the promise that they’ll have new content on their site weekly (or in whatever interval you publish new articles). My article submission service offers this option to me, and I’m appearing on more websites every week.

9. Write a press release. Distributing a press release online can have a strong impact beyond any media that might pick it up. Press releases that link back to your site can enhance your search engine rankings and increase your online credibility. You can convert your article into a tips release, a release that ties into a current trend or news story or to an upcoming event that you’re sponsoring. This strategy takes a bit of work, as you need to modify the content of your article into the press release format and orient it to your goal for publishing the release. I use and highly recommend PRWeb.com for online press releases.

10. Create information products for profit. I never believed that I could put together any type of information product until I took a long, hard look at my collection of articles and saw definite themes emerge. Slowly but surely I’m translating these themes into information products that I can sell online.

11. Create a teleseminar. If you write your article in the tips format, you’ve got a teleseminar in the making. All you need to do is create an introduction and closing for your teleseminar and beef up your tips points with additional explanation or with examples, and before you know it you will have created the content for a 60 minute teleseminar.

12. Distribute to print publications in your target market. If your target market is very specialized or is a niche market, you’ll find a whole host of specialized print magazines, newsletters, and catalogs for this market. Take a few hours and research those publications available for your target market, check out their submission guidelines, and get a sense of the tone of the publication. If you think your content would be a great fit, buff up a couple of your best articles and send an email to the publisher outlining how publishing your content in their publication would benefit their readership. Since you may not be paid for your submission, request that a short bio with your contact info is contained within your article.

13. Add to your niche article directory. Creating your own niche article directory is a great traffic-generating strategy, as you can feature your own articles there as well as accept quality submissions from others who have relevant info for your target market. An easy way to create this type of site is through free article directory software, ArticleDashboard.com.

14. Create a special report. Want to create a quick giveaway to offer to colleagues as a bonus for their product, or as a giveaway to your contacts? Create a PDF of your article as a special report that includes your contact info, as well as an upsell page to particular products or services. Or, you can make this report a viral marketing piece.that is free for others to give away.

15. Offer it to your affiliates. If you have an affiliate program, offering your affiliates the ability to use and reprint your articles gives them content to help promote your products and services. In the resource box of your article that links back to your site, encourage your affiliates to include their affiliate link to your site so that they get credit anytime one of their visitors links to your site from theirs.

Don’t let your articles sit on your desktop gathering dust. Put them to work for you by creating a repurposing plan to help you get the most out of your creation.

6072Article Marketing is a delicate skill that takes time and dedication to master. This article covers one part of article marketing which, I think, can greatly increase your click through rate.

Practical Article Marketing Tips – What to Do When Your Article Resource Box Goes Horribly Wrong

By Jeff Herring

The Resource Box in your article is the Call to Action for your prospect. So many people let it go horribly wrong. Discover what to do instead inside this article.

One of the main benefits of Article Marketing is the ability to drive endless waves of traffic wherever you want it to go.

The challenge is most people don’t know how to handle this chance for a great call to action for the prospect, and their Resource Box goes horribly wrong.

Let’s take a closer look at how to mess this up and how to get it right.

How to Mess Things Up

Talk about yourself first – Most Resource Boxes begin with “Sally Sue is the author of blah-blah-blah.” Here’s a harsh reality: the reader does not care. The reader wants to know what to do next and what is in it for them.

Additionally, talking about yourself first at the beginning of the Resource Box is like announcing to your prospect

the article is now over and you can go away!

Not really the outcome you want.

Having no call to action – Another horrible thing I have seen is having no link at all, no call to action to ask the reader to take the next step. You have spent the time and effort of creating the article and now you are going to lose the prospect. Even if you do not have an opt-in set up with a give away to sign up for, at least send them to your Twitter account for more tips and to follow you on Twitter.

Long and ugly – Instead of short and sweet invitation for more good information, the Resource Box is long and ugly, filled with trying to convince the reader you are an expert and other stuff the reader does not care about. I know this sounds nuts, but I have actually seen people create ones that were almost as long as the article. Sometimes even longer.

How to Get It Right

Have the Resource Box flow out of the article – In many article directories, this is the next paragraph in the article. So let your article flow right into the resource box as if it is a part of the article. Here’s a tip for letting your Resource Box flow out of your article. Brace yourself though, because this tip is very high tech and complex. Use the word “and.”

Invite the reader/prospect to get more information from you – Here is where you propose what Indians would call a “good trade.” More good information from you in exchange for their email address. Don’t hammer your prospect with the offer. Just use nice “invitational language to bring the reader to your opt-in page to sign up.

Brand yourself – Then and only then do you use your name or other branding. And then it is only so your name and brand is associated with the good stuff they are about to get.

Here’s a good example of a powerful “invitational” Resource Box for your articles:

And now I would like to invite you to claim your Free Instant Access to one of my prospect pulling Resource Box Templates when you visit http://www.ResourceBoxTemplates.com

It’s called the “And now” template and you’ll see exactly how to plug in your information to create your one prospect pulling Resource Box.

This marketing trick on youtube can apply to many different industries and not just Chiropractors.  It offers some good tips to help get your marketing message out there.

The Marketing Chiropractic System – How to Use This YouTube Trick to Attract New Patients in Droves

By Ben Cummings

If you are looking for a marketing chiropractic method that can drive in numerous patients in droves, than you will want to take another look at the new feature recently added by YouTube.

Reading this article teaches you a new tool YouTube recently added that allows many other people to share your office tour or educational video with their Facebook friends or Twitter followers, with one click of the button. Let’s get started.

How Big of An Opportunity is Using YouTube to Market Your Chiropractic Practice?

Your initial reaction might be, “Why should I put an office tour or an educational video about my chiropractic practice on YouTube? How will this help me get local patients?” Consider these YouTube facts:

  • YouTube is the 3rd most visited website in the world
  • YouTube is the second most popular search engine, second only to Google.
  • The average YouTube visitor watches 21 minutes of video daily!
  • And contrary to poplar belief, the average YouTuber is NOT a 13 year old pimply faced kid who can’t keep his bedroom clean. Actuality, 65% of the people who watch online videos are between 35 and 64 years of age and these folks are better off financially.

What this means for you: The sheer size and scope of YouTube means that chances are extremely good that local people doing local searches can easily stumble across your videos.

And another thing. Google (at the moment) seems to be in love with online video. If you use correct keywords in your video title – such as “Rochester Chiropractor Helps Stop Back Pain” – chances are extremely good that your video will show up very high in Google searches when people use these or similar keywords.  I’ve had many clients dominate the first page of Google within 4 hours of posting a video to YouTube and it resulted in new patients the same day.

What I Love Most About YouTube is the “Viral Component” of It

What I mean is that Joe sees your video on back pain, watches it, and then tells his friend Kevin about it and even emails him the link. I did some research on this and found this tidbit: 68% of people who watch online videos will in turn pass links to these videos onto their friends and family. This turns your videos into viral traffic machines.

A New Feature Just Added to YouTube Allows People to Share Your Videos Instantly:

YouTube recently added some new share buttons beneath every video. It gives the watcher three share options:

  • MySpace
  • Facebook
  • And now, drum roll please, Twitter

It enables the viewer to send your video’s link to all their Facebook and Twitter friends with one click. This can have the effect of turning one viewer into 3 or 10 or 20, again,  with one click of the button. Twitter is the most recent Social Media Website to be added.

Never Before Has the Ability to Spray Your Chiropractic Marketing Message to So Many People Been Made So Easy

It doesn’t end there. When Mary Twitters your video, now there’s a discussion that goes something like this:

“Have YOU ever used a chiropractor?”

“No, have you?”

“Yes, I love mine.”

“Who do YOU use?”

“Oh I use Dr Jones which is why I posted his video.”

This new YouTube feature opens up huge networking possibilities.
