Thank you pages are one of the most under utilized pages on websites.  Who sees the thank you page?  Buyers see it.  This means that any ads you put on that page will be seen by people who just spent money and will likely spend more money.

How to Make More Money With Your Thank You Pages

By: Liz Ratliff

Even if you are just starting out with your first website and you can copy and paste, then you can do this. My Bonus Products works on your thank you page as well as your autoresponder .The thank you page is your chance to give your customers a bonus to show your appreciation and to pursue additional sales. If you offer good products and information to your customers and they have already bought your initial product then more than likely they will be interested in seeing what else you have to offer.

This system is very easy to implement and just as easy to manage. You simply insert the code on your thank you page and your customer gets the bonus and your upsell offer.

If you are just starting out as an affiliate marketer you can get a free account and use Clickbank products with your affiliate ID as your upsell. That way you are not out any expense to try to earn some extra monay. There is also a paid account where you can promote your own products. You gain more profits because you haven’t spent any more money trying to get a customer to purchase more than one time from you.

My Bonus Products can help you make more money, save you time and advertising expense and just as important, keep your customers updated with your newest products and bonuses.

Seriously, is there any reason a person would want to lose money? That might be exactly what is happening if you are not correctly monetizing your download pages.

You also need to make use of your confirmation page, don’t let that space go to waste. This system works on your autoresponder confirmation pages.

Look, the bottom line is that if you are not using bonus products and upsells on your download pages, you are just leaving money on the table!

Air Show (Aurora)You may think that the classifieds are obsolete now, but that isn’t true. Most paper classifieds are also online, and there are many free online classified sites.  If you don’t have a website or an email list, classifieds are the way to go.

How To Make Money Online Without A Website Or A List: Classified Advertising

By: Jinger Jarrett

Classified advertising is probably one of the oldest ways to market online. Although it’s not always as effective as it once was, it’s still an effective way to market your business online.

The reason is that it is a form of marketing that most people are familiar with. For those new to the internet, it’s an easy way to find things. For those who want to sell, it’s an easy marketing technique.

If you’re new to internet marketing, or you don’t have any money to spend on marketing, classified advertising is the best place to start. It’s easy to learn how to write ads, and there are plenty of free classified ad sites that will allow you to post ads.

Before you post any ads though, here’s a few things to help you make more money from this technique:

1. Choose low cost products to market.

It’s a lot easier to sell low ticket items on classified ad sites than it is high ticket items. If you plan to use classified sites to drive traffic for your high ticket items, then it’s a good idea to create some type of freebie to draw traffic to your site.

Don’t offer your product in the ad. Offer the freebie. Give visitors a reason to visit your site.

2. If possible, optimize your ads for the search engines.

When you’re writing your ads it’s a good idea to write them with the search engines in mind. Try to include your keywords in your ads if possible.

Many classified ad sites, especially free ones, do really well in the search engines. You can easily increase the traffic to your ad by considering the keywords.

3. Try offering physical products too.

Top classified sites like Craig’s List offer just about everything. Just as shoppers may shop auctions to find bargains, classified ad sites are another place to look for bargains.

The best part of offering what you sell through classifieds is that it won’t cost you anything.

4. Write as many ads as you can and post them.

The more ads you write, the more chances you have to make conversions, get traffic, and get sales. Many of these classified ad sites also allow you to renew your ads so you don’t have to retype them.

5. Post ads consistently.

As I mentioned before, many of these sites allow you to renew your ads without reposting them. This will save you a lot of time and help you get your ads out more quickly.

Don’t just renew your ads though. Post more ads and try to do a certain number of ads each day. More ads equal more traffic and ultimately more sales.

the last cult of EnglandI think it is always a good idea to drive traffic to your site from several different avenues.  This article gives some ideas on ways to get leads from low cost and no cost sources.

Low-Cost Marketing Ideas – How to Generate Lots of Leads Online For Very Little Money

By Sue Clement

Do you skimp on marketing because you think you can’t afford it? Don’t. Instead, read on for some low-cost or even no-cost ways to market your business.

There are many inexpensive ways to market your business. So there’s no need to wait until you have extra cash to spend on marketing.

Yes. You can get started now by marketing on a shoestring budget. How?

One highly effective way to do that is by going online. In the virtual world, there is lots of inexpensive marketing to be had. There is a catch though… You will have to pay one way or another — if you don’t want to pay with money, you will have to put in time (or leverage someone else’s time) to get results.

No matter. If you need to get things going, you may well find this a very useful option.

Here are a few free and low-cost options:

1) Article marketing

Write articles about topics your potential clients would be interested in. This achieves two goals with one easy action: You reach potential clients, and you immediately establish yourself as an expert. The catch? You have to write the articles first and get them published.

2) Twitter

Twitter is a powerhouse for marketing. And it is free as well. However, you’ll have to put in a bit of legwork — you have to set up your account and accumulate and cultivate a list of followers. Once you have done that, you’ll be able to reap the rewards.

3) Facebook

Facebook too is a true marketing powerhouse. And, like Twitter, it’s free. Like Twitter, it too requires legwork. The nice thing is that it works very well together with Twitter, and if you tie the two of them in with article marketing, you’ll have a powerful combination.

4) Opt-in email marketing

All of the above will result in wasted time and effort, however, if you have no way to capture all those leads you’ll generate. By capturing contact information you create a prospect database or “list.” Do you have one or several? If not, it’s high time to build one. The more people you have on your list, the better your return on your investment.

Because here’s the truth about lists: They’re the ultimate marketing tools — more powerful than all the other three taken together. If you have a large enough list of loyal subscribers, you’ll be able to market to them over and over and generate sales. And how’s that for marketing on a shoestring? It won’t even take much time!

You should know though, that a list isn’t totally free, of course. However, it’s very low cost in comparison to the pay-off. You will need an autoresponder service, and probably web hosting and a domain name, at a bare minimum. Plus sweat equity. Get started by setting up a simple lead capture page, or a blog. You’ll also need something to lure those people onto your list – like a free report, a sample or an audio. Then continue to share valuable information so they’ll be responsive to your future offers.

Any one of the above can bring in prospects and buyers, but in combination, they make a highly effective marketing system — and one that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

사진 035Writing for humans or writing for robots. That is the dilemma bloggers face everyday.  You want to build a readership, but you also want to get your blog ranked high in the search engines.  If you write for robots, humans will be turned off.  If you write for humans, robots might not think your blog is very relevant for the keywords you are targeting.  Is there a happy medium?

Blogging for SEO, Robots and Human Readers

By Tammara Nelson

Naturally we have all been raised to write for the human reader. I doubt many parents raise their children remarking, “Now Johnny, be sure to practice writing so the robot can read your story!” As crazy as it sounds, bloggers are faced with the task to not only write for humans, but for robots too!

Have you written your blog posts for humans only, or do you also aim to please the robots appetite for the latest scoop? Although it may be your specialty, robots are not looking to read the latest gossip, but they are looking to read strong keywords and key phrases. To please the robots be sure to toss the robots some keyword biscuits and key phrase sandwiches so you will be handsomely rewarded! For good seo, (search engine optimization) the primary keywords are those found in your blog post titles. Your blog post titles have the greatest impact for bringing in organic traffic from the search engines.

Blogging with robots in mind is not the easiest task for bloggers because it means we have to write in a manner that may seem awkward as we create the content. If the content was not carefully crafted it may result in feeling a repetitious flow of specific keywords when the human reader takes a gander at your blog posts. If you were in an English class and submitted a story written in a manner to find favor from a robot, the teacher would probably give you bad marks for being too repetitious with certain words. One rare exception would be if your teacher is a robot!

When it comes to search engines and robots, proper keyword selection, placement and repetition are helpful in order to establish your main keywords and key phrases for your blog. For most, that is not second nature, but instead a learned process in blogging. Bloggers must find a happy medium between writing for the human reader, and writing for the robots. Ultimately you may prefer to write for the human reader first, and the robots second. If that is the case and you are the human reading this article, be sure to tell the robots to get behind you in line!

Did I write for the robot here? Hmm, I better throw the robot some keyword biscuits to lure him in to get my keyword higher up in the search results. So please have a blogging, blogging, blogging, good time!

CollaborationSocial Media is an excellent way to grow your business and get the word out about you. This is a case study that was done that I think illustrates necessary steps to use social networking sites effectively.

Generate Leads with Social Media Strategy: 6 Steps to Fill Up Sales Funnel

Just over a year ago, Pam O’Neal, VP Marketing, BreakingPoint, shared her team’s success using a wide-ranging social media strategy to generate leads. We’ve asked her to present an update on their tactics — with a focus on integrating email and social media — at our upcoming Email Summit.

In advance of this session, we’re highlighting the original case study that first demonstrated how the team tested and measured activity from several social media channels. The results included 55% of all leads coming from inbound Web visits, and 75% of marketing-influenced pipeline coming from inbound Web leads.

Step #1. Create blog to start and join online conversations

O’Neal’s team began its foray into social media by launching a company blog. They didn’t wait to finalize a blog strategy before launch, however. Their blogging approach evolved over time, based on observation of online conversations related to their network equipment testing niche.

- First, the team set up an online monitoring system that scanned the Web, the blogosphere, online forums and communities to find conversations relevant to their industry and their technical audience. The results were consolidated into an RSS feed that a team member could review each morning.

Step #2. Establish a Twitter account

The team supplemented their blog with a company Twitter account. It allowed them to post shorter, more frequent updates to their niche audience.

Company “tweets” included:
- Notices of new blog posts, webinars
- Fun entries (e.g., trivia questions, quizzes)
- Informal focus group questions (a poll of Twitter followers about potential names for the company newsletter)

As they did with the blog, the team used their scanning tools to find and participate in Twitter conversations relevant to their industry. They were particularly interested in community members asking for advice about equipment testing, so they set up alerts to find key terms.    –more

OpeningWhat is Web 2.0?  I am sure you have heard a lot about it and you probably even know what it is.  Here is what wikipedia has to say about it:

The term “Web 2.0” (2004–present) is commonly associated with web applications that facilitate interactive information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design and collaboration on the World Wide Web. Examples of Web 2.0 include web-based communities, hosted services, web applications, social-networking sites, video-sharing sites, wikis, blogs, mashups and folksonomies. A Web 2.0 site allows its users to interact with other users or to change website content, in contrast to non-interactive websites where users are limited to the passive viewing of information that is provided to them.

The term is closely associated with Tim O’Reilly because of the O’Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004. Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but rather to cumulative changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the Web. Whether Web 2.0 is qualitatively different from prior web technologies has been challenged by World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, who called the term a “piece of jargon” — precisely because he intended the Web to embody these values in the first place.

And then here is what O’Reilley says about it on his website:

The bursting of the dot-com bubble in the fall of 2001 marked a turning point for the web. Many people concluded that the web was overhyped, when in fact bubbles and consequent shakeouts appear to be a common feature of all technological revolutions. Shakeouts typically mark the point at which an ascendant technology is ready to take its place at center stage. The pretenders are given the bum’s rush, the real success stories show their strength, and there begins to be an understanding of what separates one from the other.

The concept of “Web 2.0″ began with a conference brainstorming session between O’Reilly and MediaLive International. Dale Dougherty, web pioneer and O’Reilly VP, noted that far from having “crashed”, the web was more important than ever, with exciting new applications and sites popping up with surprising regularity. What’s more, the companies that had survived the collapse seemed to have some things in common. Could it be that the dot-com collapse marked some kind of turning point for the web, such that a call to action such as “Web 2.0″ might make sense? We agreed that it did, and so the Web 2.0 Conference was born.

In the year and a half since, the term “Web 2.0″ has clearly taken hold, with more than 9.5 million citations in Google. But there’s still a huge amount of disagreement about just what Web 2.0 means, with some people decrying it as a meaningless marketing buzzword, and others accepting it as the new conventional wisdom.

This article is an attempt to clarify just what we mean by Web 2.0.    –more

Another view of the south side of the Googlepl...

Image via Wikipedia

I have been posting several articles that relate to marketing in 2010.  I want to help people become aware of what is currently working and what experts believe is going to be the most important marketing mediums.  Be reading from a variety of sources you can see the common elements.

This is another such post that I agree with  take these predictions to heart and apply them to your business to make 2010 the best year you have had.

10 Marketing Predictions for 2010

Here’s my annual list of what to expect, marketing-wise, in the upcoming 12 months. Time will tell how accurate these are, although my 2009 list was fairly spot-on:

#10) Mobile advertising will still NOT flourish in North America in 2010. However, if the Google mobile phone becomes a hit it could make a late-year run and enter 2011 with great momentum.

#9) The web will continue to grow and play an even more important role in great, measurable marketing. Websites that create relevance, with smart use of microsites, and also help develop a dialog, will reign supreme. One-way websites will be viewed as antiquated and ineffective; YouTube will grow in its importance for traditional TV-based advertisers (:30 second commercials will decline greatly). Google Analytics will continue to gain users and importance.

#8) Wal-Mart’s attempt to compete with Amazon will prove to be a failure.

#7) E-mail will lose more popularity to social media but will be even more important as a customer retention and communication tool.

#6) Printed matter – newspapers and magazines – will continue to struggle and more of them will switch to online only editions than ever before.

#5) Direct mail will see a resurgence as data becomes better, more accurate and more segmentable than ever before. While mail volume will not increase, its role as an impactful, door-opening media will grow and its use as a powerful follow-up medium will increase. Those that do mail really well and commit to the channel will prosper as they will face less clutter in mailboxes.    –more

My Biggest Secret To Success in Internet Marketing

When you think of doing Internet Marketing or making money online, you can find thousands of blogs, forums and various options to do it. There are lot of Internet Marketing gurus who teach how to make money online. I would say that at least 80% of these Internet Marketing gurus make money by teaching people how to make money online. Lot of newbies end up spending time and money behind such ideas and end in giving up with no success.

I personally have been in this group of newbies where I have followed forums, blogs, bought a few services, ebooks etc. These things have worked a bit for me but it has never been outstanding. The only thing that I has worked for me and which I believe is my secret to success is doing what YOU feel is right. My biggest income generating idea was implemented by me 6 months after the idea came to my mind. This thing now easily earns me around $2K per month. This means I have lost around 10K-12K by not implementing what I had in my mind 6 months ago. Why I did not do it? Because out of those thousand forums and ebooks, no one ever talked about this idea of mine. I felt that this won’t work for me and hence I kept on delaying the implementation.    –more

E-commerce sites need to be optimized differently than content websites.  These articles cover some of the ways to use SEO for your site.

Seven sensational SEO tips for ecommerce sites

Sales-based sites are where SEO really comes into its own in terms of return on investment, and it literally is the case that even the smallest tweaks can result in real increases in revenue.

So here are seven ways to help transactional e-commerce sites boost their search rankings…

1. Multiple categorisation

A common instinct for e-commerce site architecture still seems to be the ‘filing cabinet‘ approach: each product is assigned one category and one category only. But of course in reality any one product may fit into many different ‘buckets’. A pair of trainers might fit into ‘mens trainers’ as well as ‘Reebok trainers’, ‘white trainers’, ‘tennis shoes’ and ‘cheap trainers’.

Now you may say to me “get with it mate, usability people have been recommending this for years!” True, and you may already be using a number of ’sort by’ options to categorise your products. But do those categories form their own landing pages from which to target all those keyphrases, or are they simply ways of filtering results? The key is to make sure each of those categories is linked to using a clean, HTML anchor text link.   –more

SEO: A Quick Primer on the Difference Between Ecommerce and Content Sites

Remember that quote that says half of the ad budget goes to waste – we just don’t know which half? If your SEO strategy is not right, you could be wasting 100% of your SEO budget.

We have gotten to a point where, if you have an online presence, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a must in your strategy. However, many of our small businesses, though we have SEO within our strategy, follow an approach that results in a waste of time, money and lost opportunity. If you follow the right strategy, it can make a big difference to your business.

For the purpose of this article, I would broadly categorize websites into ecommerce and content websites. If you sell something on your website, then I would categorize it into an ecommerce website.    –more
